Rhinotracheitis (Herpes Virus) Felines

Posted on Thursday, February 1, 2007

Calici virus and feline Rhinotracheitis virus, accounts for nearly 85% to 90% of all URI's in cats.

Incidence and Prevalence

Calici virus occurs worldwide and affects all breeds of cats. Vaccinations are given, but it hasn't decreased the virus in cats.
Many kittens actually have a side affect to the vaccines and show clinical symptoms of the virus, with fever, lethargic ness, loss of appetite. The virus is spreading, even though fewer cats show symptoms.

Numerous strains of feline calici virus exist and different strains cause different symptoms (e.g., one particular strain can cause ulcers on the paws as well as in the mouth). It usually affects the throat, and sometimes the lungs; it can also infect the intestines and has been isolated from faeces.

Calici virus often occurs with another upper respiratory infection, such as feline herpes virus (FHV), rhinotracheitis virus, or chlamydiosis.

FCV is resistant to many disinfectants and can survive outside the cat's body for as long as 8 to 10 days, so it may be present in dishes, litter trays, and clothing, even after a thorough cleaning. Many cats remain contagious for years if they are not treated with the Calici virus nosodes, (they may not show signs of disease) Healthy (i.e., asymptomatic), contagious cats are known as latent carriers.

Calici virus is very common in kittens, multi cat households, and pet adoption shelters. Outbreaks can occur in overcrowded, poorly ventilated, or unsanitary conditions. Therefore it is always suggested to give your animals a natural immunity defence against the virus with specific homeopathic oral nosodes.

Holistically we provide the Rhinotracheitis nosodes of the virus for protection and treatment and then depending on the symptoms of each pet we treat for each condition homoeopathically with fast and effective results.
Provide a natural diet and avoid any further chemical invasion of drugs that further damage pet's body.

Avoiding chemical foods, drugs and stresses to the body will provide a pet with optimum health from there forth.

These Rhinotracheitis (Herpes Virus) Felines ARE SUGGESTED TREATMENTS for Felines.
